Transforming The City

Today we completed our Gospel N.E.T. series — Kyle Essary, one of our covenant partners at GCC preached on the “T” – Transform. We were reminded, as we ever so often need to be, that the gospel of Jesus Christ makes it possible for us to be transformed and to bring about transformation even when it seems like we or the world are so very far from God. Indeed through transformed worship, cities, and nations, every domain tainted by sin can, is being, and will be renewed by God’s grace.
Through Revelation, Zechariah, Isaiah, and more, we were encouraged by the Word that promises us that someday, we will be together with God’s king, Jesus Christ, who will establish true righteousness and worship here on earth — and what a remarkable thing it shall be to behold! All the love, hope, joy, and rest that we find now in Jesus – is only a foretaste of what is to come. That is indeed something awesome to look forward to but also affirm in our daily lives today, as we walk as Christians in the now but not yet.
