Don’t Drift

Have you ever been on a boat that’s not tethered to the dock, at danger of drifting further away? Last week, Chris presented us with a simple and stern warning from Hebrews 2:1-5. Drifting away from God is subtle. It is not a big catastrophic event. Rather, it happens through things like neglect and apathy. The warning is this – guard your hearts and remain fixated on Jesus. Don’t drift, don’t be lethargic, don’t be apathetic towards spiritual things. Press in to Christ and remain tethered to him. By our intentional effort and the grace of God, may we see this matter as a matter of life and death and realize that eternity hangs in the balance!
