Rest In Christ

We closed our Conquest for Rest series last week, looking at the well-loved words of Jesus in Matthew 11:28–30 — “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”Von walked us through Jesus’s invitation for rest. All who labour and are heavy-laden are invited — to both rest in Christ, and to wear the easy yoke of Christ. So we can just come to him, trusting in the rest he offers and in the promise that he will not cast us out. This brought fresh meaning to the beautiful words of a hymn, “Nothing in my hands I bring, simply to the Cross I cling.” May we each find and fight for our rest in Christ!
