The Good and Bad of God Never Changing

The passage of Scripture we heard from today is Malachi 2:17-3:12. We looked at how the fact that God doesn’t change provides God’s people with a hope that assures, and fuels our desire to obey. As much as it is a source of comfort, it is also a source of warning because His judgment is coming to the disobedient.

In the second part of the passage, we were challenged to a mindset shift – instead of asking “how much do I need to give?” (of ourselves, our time, talents, money), perhaps the better question to ask is “how much do i need to keep?”. We are reminded that God doesn’t bless us BECAUSE we gave, God blesses us SO THAT we can give.
