The Messanger and His Message
June 30, 2024
Chris Abner, one of our elders, lead us through Romans 1:1-4. In these verses, Paul introduces himself as a devoted servant and apostle of Christ Jesus, called to be the messenger of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Paul’s message centers on Jesus Christ, a descendant of David, fulfilling messianic prophecies and being declared the powerful Son of God through His resurrection.
Chris also highlighted how the gospel can be shared through these four key verses in Romans:
– Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
– Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
– Romans 5:8: “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
– Romans 10:9: “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
It was a powerful reminder of the message of Jesus Christ, and how we too are called to be messengers to share this wonderful message of Christ to others.
