Perseverance in Mission

This past Sunday, we looked at Nehemiah 3-6 in our "A City Restored" series and we focused on the theme of perseverance that is seen in these chapters. We were reminded that as Christians, we are to live out our mission to bring God's saving message to all people. This mission is always meant to be done in partnership with God's people. We saw the how the Jews persevered in order to live out their mission, in the very face of economic oppression, slander and violent threats. Despite all these, Nehemiah knew that the sovereign God of the universe is fighting on his side. In the same way, we are to defend, support and encourage other Christians as they live out their mission too.
