Repent and Respond
May 14, 2023
"I'm sorry, God."As fallen beings, we apologize to God a lot for when we do sin. Yesterday, Kyle took us through Ezra 9-10, where we saw how Ezra modelled true repentance. True repentance requires more than an apology; we need to mourn over the depths of our sin and how it has corrupted our soul and conscience. We need to feel sorrow for how our sins have besmirched God's honour. Godly sorrow is a mark of a genuinely repentant heart. Because of the powerful grace of God through the gospel, we are able to flee from our sins and respond in faith. During our service, we prayed for the nation of Jordan as a church. And of course, we honoured mothers in our midst with a simple gift, lifting them and also those who struggle on this day to the Lord and His power.
