Sabbath – Resting In God’s Soverign Goodness, Power & Provision

Dr Jeff Mooney, took us through the theme of rest in the Old Testament.

To some of us, “Sabbath” might have rung with ritualistic overtones, or might simply have meant little to us. But Jeff showed us in the Old Testament that the Sabbath was a weekly sign in Israel of God’s unprecedented power, goodness, provision & promise. That has so much relevance for us today as the people of God. Jeff also showed us ways we can celebrate Sabbath together — fanning into flame our faith, bearing each other’s burdens, and preparing for endurance.After hearing God’s Word and enjoying fellowship at church, we were ready to launch into the week mindful of God’s design of rest for us as his people.
