The Need for Truth

On Sunday, Andy took us through the remainder of Romans 1, covering verses 18–32. We learnt how God, and His character, is knowable to everyone through the natural world, and therefore there is no excuse for the sinful ways that we live, in denial of truth.

It was helpful to understand how “exchanging the truth about God for a lie” (v25) plays out in our own lives. Every sin we commit finds its root in a distortion of God’s character; in the same way, Christian living starts with a right understanding of God. Despite our fallenness however, we can hope in the fact that we are saved by the work of Jesus, the innocent sacrifice who died in the place of us, who deserved to die.
