Kyle Essary, our soon to be covenant partner, preached from Genesis 39-41. Material blessings can blind us to God’s Providence in our lives, just like Joseph in the passage. We often mistakenly associate success, security and safety as God being present with us, and suffering as the absence of God.

In reality, God’s power is made perfect in weakness. It is in suffering that we experience more deeply the presence of God. We were reminded that suffering is the way of Jesus.
